LENS DESIGNS FOR DIRECT VIEW
      AND
    FOR ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY

     ( June 2007 )

The four ZEMAX topics presented here relate to the design of  modern 'apochromatic'  lenses covering the waveband 0.45µm to 1.0µm.

In the visible spectrum 0.4µm to 0.7µm these are for sky-watchers using the eyeball, while the near-infrared is for astrophotographers using single lens reflex cameras, with either the normal Leica, Nikon or Canon  35mm film format  or the more exotic Hasselblad 80mm film format, on appropriate film.

These lenses are designed for the  highest quality focal planes, containing upwards of 10Megapixels on a 44 mm. diagonal.
